Developer Tools and API Use
S & CC Group Inc ("S&CC Group", "we", "us") is a California corporation. We build, host, and maintain websites for owner-led service businesses, and we offer specialty services such as fractional leadership. We run online advertising for our own websites and for fractional leadership clients whose engagement includes their advertising.
What our tool does
We use an internal program that our staff run from a computer's command line, by typing commands rather than using a website or an app. It connects to Google Ads through the Google Ads API, the service Google provides so that software can work with Google Ads accounts. The program does three things:
- Campaign management. Create and adjust search advertising campaigns, ad groups, keywords, and ads in our own Google Ads accounts and in the accounts of clients whose engagement includes their advertising.
- Reporting. Retrieve performance data so we can monitor campaigns and report results to the account owners.
- Keyword research. Retrieve how often people search for a phrase, how many advertisers compete for it, and what a click on an ad for it costs, so that we advertise on phrases people actually search for.
Who uses it
Only S&CC Group staff use the tool, to run the advertising we manage. It has no public interface, and we do not resell it, license it to others, or offer it as a product.
Data
The tool reads campaign settings, keyword data, and performance totals from Google Ads and saves them in our own systems for planning and reporting. This data describes ads, keywords, and searches in total, not the people who see or click the ads, so the tool collects no personal information about them. We use the data only to run and improve the advertising we manage.
We keep data from a client's account while we manage its advertising. If the client asks us by email to remove our access or to delete the data, we do both within 7 days after we verify the request. When our access or our work in the account ends in any other way, we delete the data within 30 days. Reports we sent the client stay with our project correspondence, as our Privacy Policy describes. We keep data from our own accounts for as long as we use it to plan our own advertising.
